The Tasting Table experience at Old Westminster is just as charming and aesthetically pleasing as I imagined - when I saw there was a little lavender on top of my plate, I knew I was in for a well curated, well set experience that would be as beautiful as it was tasty. I loved that they served their wine with a charcuterie board of local meats and cheeses - it really rounds out the look of the table and prepares you for the wine!

The tent that your table sits in is gorgeous and well decorated, and you sort of feel like you're sitting right in the middle of a Pottery Barn catalogue (no complaints here, I love Pottery Barn!). Old Westminster has a really great eye at decorating a space and really making it set the tone for your experience at their winery.

We booked our reservation 2 weeks in advance. It's $45 per person with a $10 booking fee for each seat. Spots book up very quickly. With the reservation, your group gets a 2 hour time slot, six different wines to taste and a charcuterie board of local meats and cheeses

The wines are served two at a time, which I thought was a great touch, as it allowed you to compare the wines to one another, taste differences, and compare tasting notes to similar but different wines. It really came into play during the sparkling wines a sparkling Riesling and a sparkling Chardonnay - two wines that you don't typically see as sparkling!! I like that Old Westminster tries new things and brings new flavors to the table.

The tasting also features two of the same vines, but different vintages, so you can compare the differences that an aged wine brings compared to a newer wine. I felt like our table really walked away from the wine tasting with more knowledge on the different wines we tried, which is always a bonus!

One of our favorite wines we tried was not a part of the tasting, but of their canned wine collections. We highly suggest trying Raw Rose' or Happy Camper. You can't go wrong with either one.

In addition to the great wine, we were able to order delicious flatbreads that Old Westminster makes on site, as well as order these pretty fancy desserts that were unique, but good!

Once the tasting was done, the host asked if we would like to join their wine club which they call the "Cru Club". They have a lot of great wines and the membership was at a great value for what they were offering. Someone in our group actually ending up joining.

The service at Old Westminster is always on point and they make you feel right at home at the winery. We keep going back here for a reason folks! Old Westminster Winery just knows how to draw us in with their wines and great experiences.

Cheers,

Tara and Shannon
